Aboutthe role We are seeking an experienced Director of Reinsurance tojoin Coalition’s rapidly expanding Coalition Re team. As aDirector, you will play a pivotal leadership role in shaping thefuture of our reinsurance products, driving the growth of existingportfolios, and overseeing the overall P&L. You will beresponsible for leading senior-level strategic initiatives,building and managing relationships with key reinsurance brokers,cedants, and capacity partners, while ensuring the profitabilityand sustainability of our reinsurance book. The Director will leadand collaborate across multiple teams, including Product,Engineering, Claims, and Actuarial, to design innovativereinsurance solutions, while maintaining a strong focus on thebroader market trends and evolving needs of the cyber reinsurancesector. Responsibilities Lead the strategic development, pricing,and structuring of reinsurance products, ensuring alignment withCoalition’s growth objectives and market positioning Oversee anddrive the expansion of existing reinsurance portfolios,consistently achieving revenue and profitability targets Cultivateand maintain senior-level relationships with reinsurance brokers,cedants, and capacity partners, representing Coalition at theexecutive level in key strategic engagements Collaboratecross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Modeling, and Pricingteams to create innovative reinsurance products and go-to-marketstrategies Lead the negotiation and management of complexreinsurance transactions and ensure the execution of profitabledeals Supervise the development of quarterly and annual budgets,ensuring alignment with organizational financial goals Maintain anin-depth understanding of the cyber reinsurance marketplace,including market trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks, toguide strategic decisions Represent Coalition at industryconferences and events, enhancing the company’s presence andestablishing thought leadership in the cyber reinsurance spaceProvide leadership, mentorship, and direction to a team ofunderwriting professionals, fostering a high-performance cultureand continuous development Skills and Qualifications 10 years ofexperience in underwriting (particularly reinsurance) with a focuson cyber risk and a proven track record of success at a seniorleadership level Demonstrated expertise in building and managingprofitable reinsurance portfolios, with a strong ability to scalebusinesses rapidly and sustainably Strong leadership skills with abackground in managing cross-functional teams, including modeling,actuarial, and claims functions Excellent relationship-building,negotiation, and influencing skills, with a high degree ofexpertise in navigating complex client and partner interactionsDeep knowledge of the cyber risk market, including evolving trendsin coverage, underwriting practices, and loss history Provenability to represent an organization at the highest levels, withexceptional communication, presentation, and sales capabilitiesStrategic thinker with a creative, solution-oriented mindset forovercoming challenges and identifying opportunities in afast-evolving marketplace A 4-year college degree or equivalentindustry experience; advanced degrees or certifications (e.g.,CPCU, ARM) are a plus Compensation Our compensation reflects thecost of labor across several US geographic markets. The US basesalary for this position ranges from $200,000/year in our lowestgeographic market up to $230,000/year in our highest geographicmarket. Consistent with applicable laws, an employees pay withinthis range is based on a number of factors, which include but arenot limited to relevant education, skills, job-related knowledge,qualifications, work experience, credentials, and/or geographiclocation.
