Job Summary:

The UW Supervisor acts as first level management for the Underwriting division, handling both personnel tasks and issues, as well as technical UW tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

Help develop UW standards, methods, and processes in accordance with best practices and industry benchmarks.
Manage personnel training needs, development plans and stretch assignment for UW team.
Provide basic andplex system admin for issue resolution and problem solving. Approve timecards, Paid Time Off, and other Payroll related functions as the supervisor.
Maintains harmony among workers and resolves grievances. Manage the team’s performance using KPI’s, monthly 1:1s, task reconciliations, reports, and audit procedures.
Build strong, positive agent relationships to promote profitability and growth of new business and the retention of existing business.
Identify opportunities for underwriting improvement and rmend solutions.
Underwrite and maintain a profitable book of business.

Desired Experience:

5-7 years related experience and/or training; or equivalentbination of education and experience. Prior experience managing direct reports.
Conflict resolution skills and thorough understanding ofpany policy and procedures.
Minimum 5 years of experience underwritingmercial property and casualty (Must include General Liability, Product Liability and Property)
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Cannabis underwriting experience preferred.
High School Diploma required; Associates degree or higher preferred
Certified UW and/or progressive training in UW/Insurance specific disciplines

Disclosure required under applicable state or municipality regulations: The expected salary range for this position is $90,000 to $125,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level.
