Job Description
Summary The Dispatcher operates the 911 emergency and administrative telephones, fire and security alarm systems, CCTV, Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Terminal and Driver and Vehicle Information Database (DAVID) application, 2-way radio and OISM, emergency warning and notification systems, CCTV/voice recording systems and the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system. Responsibilities Track and record all incidents with a chronological listing of events using the CAD system. Must be able to work flexible hours to include weekends and holidays if needed. As a critical position will be required to report and remain available for emergency duty in expectation of a hurricane, other disaster, or declared emergency. Other duties as assigned Qualifications High school diploma or GED Meet and maintain the requirements of NFPA 1061, Professional Qualifications for Public Safety Tele-communicator and Emergency Medical Dispatch and NFPA 1221, Standard for the Installation, Maintenance, and Use of Emergency Services Communications Systems. Must obtain and maintain certifications in the following systems: the Florida Criminal Informational Center (FCIC) reporting system; the National Criminal Information Center (NCIC) reporting system; the CJIS; the DAVID; and the National Incident Management System (NIMS) Incident Command System IS-100, IS-144 and IS-70. Must possess and maintain a valid Florida state driver’s license. Must be able to obtain a DoD security clearance, but not required to start.
