Job Description
- Summary
- The Dispatcher operates the 911 emergency and administrative telephones, fire and security alarm systems, CCTV, Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Terminal and Driver and Vehicle Information Database (DAVID) application, 2-way radio and OISM, emergency warning and notification systems, CCTV/voice recording systems and the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system.
- Responsibilities
- + Track and record all incidents with a chronological listing of events using the CAD system. + Must be able to work flexible hours to include weekends and holidays if needed. + As a critical position will be required to report and remain available for emergency duty in expectation of a hurricane, other disaster, or declared emergency. + Other duties as assigned
- Qualifications
- + High school diploma or GED + Meet and maintain the requirements of NFPA 1061, Professional Qualifications for Public Safety Tele-communicator and Emergency Medical Dispatch and NFPA 1221, Standard for the Installation, Maintenance, and Use of Emergency Services Communications Systems.
+ Must obtain and maintain certifications in the following systems: the Florida Criminal Informational Center (FCIC) reporting system; the National Criminal Information Center (NCIC) reporting system; the CJIS; the DAVID; and the National Incident Management System (NIMS) Incident Command System IS-100, IS-144 and IS-70. + Must possess and maintain a valid Florida state driver’s license. + Must be able to obtain a DoD security clearance, but not required to start.
