A leading company in the metals recycling industry is seeking a Dispatcher to manage shipment schedules, assign drivers for pick-up and deliveries, plan routes, and provide rate quotes while maintaining excellent customer service. This role involves on-site work, sometimes in varying weather conditions, and requires adherence to safety and environmental standards.
Responsibilities:
Dispatch drivers for pick-ups and deliveries from suppliers and company facilities. Ensure timely deliveries and resolve any driver issues or delays. Monitor truck routes, prioritize schedules, and optimize efficiencies. Communicate with suppliers regarding driver schedules and route changes. Stay current on Federal, State, and local regulations, including FMCSR and DOT guidelines. Provide management with event updates and reports.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Prior experience in dispatch, terminal operations, or as a driver preferred. Knowledge of FMCSR and DOT regulations. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Proficient in Microsoft Office, with the ability to learn industry-specific software.
