The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient coordination of transportation operations. This position requires strong analytical skills and proficiency in fleet management, as well as experience with transportation planning and logistics. The Dispatcher will utilize various software tools, including AS400 and Oracle Transportation Management, to optimize routes and manage fleet activities effectively. Responsibilities Coordinate daily transportation activities to ensure timely delivery of goods. Analyze transportation data to improve efficiency and reduce costs. Manage fleet operations, including scheduling, routing, and tracking vehicles using GPS technology. Collaborate with third-party logistics (3PL) providers to enhance service delivery. Maintain accurate records of shipments, vehicle maintenance, and driver performance. Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and other stakeholders to resolve issues promptly. Utilize transportation management systems (TMS) to plan and execute logistics strategies. Qualifications Proven experience in dispatching or logistics management is preferred. Familiarity with AS400 and Oracle Transportation Management software is a plus. Strong understanding of supply chain processes and fleet management principles. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data for decision-making. Knowledge of transportation planning methodologies and best practices. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective collaboration.
