Full Job Description Supervises activities of all Security Office, Employee Entrance and Patrol (Rover) Officer operations as outlined in the Standards of Performance Manual for Security Officers Performs Security Department training related activities Thoroughly reviews and understands all Emergency Response Procedures. Assists in the coordination of all emergency response activities Oversees access control activities at all facility entrances and ensures that only authorized individuals enter Ensures maintenance of visitor sign-in/out logs and issuance of temporary passes to visitors/vendors Oversees inspection of all packages entering and exiting through facility employee entrances, denies access to or removal of unauthorized materials Oversees verification that all materials leaving BPCA facilities are accompanied by a completed, signed package removal pass, confiscates and turns over to management, all materials not properly authorized Oversees move-ins and move-outs Oversees contractor compliance with rules and regulations. Reports maintenance malfunctions Supervises/Patrols front of the house, back of the house, and exterior areas reporting any safety or security hazards, unacceptable behavior, or suspicious persons to Security employees for direction and resolution Prepares necessary maintenance requests for safety-related maintenance requirements Supervises/Monitors CCTV cameras, radio communications, and Alarm and Fire Control systems Documents all security related issues and assistance provided in security reports (violation, incidents, and maintenance) Documents pass down matters through the pass down log Manages restricted area access logs Serves as the surveillance records custodian Oversees lost and found activities following BPCA policies Enforces BPCA rules/regulations following Employee Manual and BPCA policy by issuing violation reports and attending violation committee hearings. Monitors and ensures compliance to key control policies and serves as the unit keys custodian. Interacts with residents and visitors in a courteous and professional manner Responds to all residents and visitors incidents, gathers information, secures area if necessary to preserve evidence Investigates breaches in security and residents and visitors incidents and accidents Questions witness’ to incidents, examining incident scenes, gathers evidence/ data to assist in determining cause and identification of areas where corrective actions are indicated and following policies and procedures. Performs interrogation operations whenever necessary as part of departmental incident investigation Assists in periodic locker/wardrobe bag inspections of employees where appropriate and conformity with policies and procedures. Assists General Manager in performance of periodic safety and security inspections Works closely with General Manager to identify potential loss/liability areas by identifying and correcting or reporting dangerous conditions in the property. Assists General Manager in development of loss prevention procedures/policies Completes all daily reports following the Safety Security Manual May operate departmental vehicles to include electric personnel transport vehicles, pickup trucks, bicycles May assist in obtaining packages from Shipping and Receiving (arriving during non-operating hours Ensures that all after hour Shipping and Receiving entries are documented and that the reason for entry is indicated and that proper requisitions are obtained for all items removed Answer department phone lines promptly and courteously following all standards Ensure security personnel are familiar with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures Act as security liaison with Phases Archive videos of incidents per management request or otherwise as appropriate Observe resident and management confidentiality standards Track roving activities, schedules and breaks, security memoranda, elevator malfunctions, fire alarm occurrences, and other matters of operating concern on the Metric Report. Ensure water flow rupture training Assist with hurricane preparation and recovery efforts Review key maintenance functions during non-working hours and report potential problems Other duties as assigned General Promotes and applies teamwork skills at all times Ensure compliance with all applicable employee non-discrimination and labor policies. Notifies appropriate individual promptly and fully of problems and/or unusual matters of significance Is polite, friendly, and helpful to residents and visitors, management, and fellow employees Executes emergency procedures following standards Complies with required safety regulations and procedures Attends appropriate BPCA meetings and training sessions Maintains cleanliness and excellent condition of equipment and work area Complies with BPCA standards, policies, and rules Recycles whenever possible Remains current with BPCA information and changes Complies with Code of Conduct. Plus Factors Associates Degree or equivalent Excellent observation, communication, guest service, and report writing skills Minimum three + years previous Security supervisory experience in large convention Possess, Class “D” Security license and CPR and First Aid certification, or ability to obtain Ability to speak, read and write English fluently Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
