Transit Dispatcher 3.1 3.1 out of 5 stars Albany, GA The Position The purpose of this classification is to coordinate scheduling and dispatch para transit and fixed route services. Duties Prepares para transit schedules; coordinates duties of para transit operator. Responds to customer calls and dispatches customer pick-ups as needed; coordinates passenger trips with social service agencies; may transport passengers when other vehicles are unavailable. Answers the telephone and provides route and schedule information, takes/relays messages, and responds to customer complaints. Prepares a variety of schedules, driver manifests, dispatch logs, radio logs, memoranda, invoices, mileage reports, identification photos, and related documentation; copies, files, and/or forwards as appropriate. Sells monthly and weekly passes and para transit tickets; re-counts passenger fares and prepares bank deposit. Communicates with vehicle operators via telephone and/or two-way radio in the performance of duties.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS

Performs other related duties as required. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; additionally, one (1) year previous experience and/or training involving customer service, computer skills,and clerical work preferred; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia Driver’s.
