Job Description The business design manager will be responsible for analyzing and executing on strategic business opportunities with significant potential business impact. Develops and tests growth hypotheses through various methods, including research and development, strategic and cross-functional partnerships and the exploration of emerging business, ensuring timely and robust strategic execution, project scoping, budget management and risk identification/management. Ensures new business alignment with the corporation’s long-term strategy and direction. Primary Duties and Key Responsibilities:
Contributes to the analysis of business trends and strategic assessment of new growth concepts, opportunities, and ideas. Works with business and functional leadership, and other relevant stakeholders to understand new growth concepts and recommendations. Structures and executes research and data gathering to support the analysis of potential opportunities and underpin comprehensive due diligence and evaluation. Works with cross-functional colleagues and client stakeholders to define program management deliverables including plans, business cases, program charters, risks assessments, stakeholders assessments, communication plans, issue / risk logs, benefits tracking and program status reports. Translates program objectives into integrated project plans, schedules, and budgets. Defines and tracks project milestones while developing, maintaining, and reporting on overall status, challenges, changes, risk management, and delivery. Ensures the financial health of the program by preparing budgets, forecasting expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating correcting actions in partnership with Finance and portfolio leadership. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 8 years of experience in program or project management for enterprise-level programs or projects. Candidate could have an MS degree with 5+ years of experience, Ph.D. with 3+ years of experience, or 12+ years in lieu of a degree. Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification strongly preferred. Experience leading cross-functional work teams and influencing outcomes through indirect people leadership. Proven track record of successfully managing complex projects and delivering them on time and within budget. Advanced project management skills and proficiency in related methodologies, tools, and software, including change management frameworks. Proven ability to influence and gain buy-in from senior executives and key stakeholders through compelling communication and relationship-building skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make data-driven decisions. Ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Experience managing projects using Scrum or other Agile frameworks. Experience in mediating conflicts and negotiating solutions with internal and external partners to ensure project success. Ability to mentor junior project managers and foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team. Drug Testing To be employed in this role, you’ll need to clear a pre-employment drug test.
