Job Description Qualifications:
Coordinate driver activities andshuttle assignments to resolve service issues and minimizeovertime, downtime, and hours of service violations. Completeattendance trackers and verify that drivers are using Omnitracsproperly. Ensure that customer’s needs are being met in a promptand professional manner and escalate issues (late dispatch,breakdown, other service failures) to managers and sales force.
Reassign routes as needed to solve service issues , and ensure thatdrivers are logging in and utilizing Proof of Delivery scanner.
Coordinate trailer, tractor, and backhaul assignments to supportefficient logistics operations. Visually inspect each driver’sappearance to verify that drivers are in proper uniform and haverequired PPE. Notify the manager / supervisor in charge and thesafety specialist in the event of a vehicle accident or driverinjury. Other duties as assigned by manager.
Requirements:
Effective communication both verbally and in writing. Excellenttelephone and customer service ability. Math, analytical, andorganizational skills with high attention to detail. Basic computerskills with a good knowledge of programs such as Microsoft Word,Excel, Access, and Outlook. Problem solving and critical thinkingabilities to solve problems of limited scope. Strong teamworkskills with the ability to support others in the department anddivision.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior dispatcher experiencepreferred. Knowledge of DOT Hours of Service Regulations and driverlogs. Knowledge of our geographic delivery area.
