The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in coordinating transportation logistics, ensuring efficient fleet management, and maintaining effective communication with drivers and customers. Responsibilities Coordinate and schedule transportation routes for drivers, ensuring timely delivery of goods. Manage fleet operations, including monitoring vehicle performance and maintenance schedules. Utilize dispatching software to optimize routes and improve efficiency. Input and maintain accurate data related to shipments, deliveries, and similar items. Communicate effectively with drivers regarding schedules, delays, and any changes in plans. Provide excellent phone etiquette while handling inquiries from customers and addressing any logistical issues that may arise. Collaborate with the logistics team to enhance transportation planning strategies. Assist in shipping and receiving processes as needed to support overall operations. Experience Previous experience in dispatching or logistics is preferred. Familiarity with fleet management practices and transportation planning is advantageous. Proficiency in data entry with attention to detail is essential. Knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures will be considered a plus. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary for effective coordination with team members and customers.
