Job Description

Position Overview We are seeking a Medical Dispatcher with strong communication skills, a calm and professional phone presence, and working knowledge of medical terminology. Experience in insurance verification or familiarity with medical insurance plans is highly desired. This role is essential in coordinating ambulance dispatches, verifying patient insurance, and handling both routine and emergency calls.

Training & Schedule Training Period:

2 months, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM•5:00 PM (Paid)

Regular Shift After Training:

7:00 PM•7:00 AM, 3 days on 2 off, 3 days on (12-hour shifts) Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays as part of a rotating schedule Key Responsibilities Dispatch ambulances and coordinate transport logistics across the service area Verify patient insurance coverage and collect necessary information Accurately input and update data in dispatch and medical systems Answer incoming calls, including emergency and non-emergency medical requests Communicate effectively with EMTs, medical staff, and patients Maintain detailed records of calls, dispatches, and insurance verifications Qualifications High school diploma or GED required 1-2+ years of experience in a medical office, dispatch, or administrative role Experience as a Medical Assistant, Receptionist, or CMA is a plus Strong knowledge of medical terminology and insurance plans Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Excellent typing, data entry, and organizational skills Ability to remain calm under pressure and multitask in a fast-paced environment Perks & Benefits $14•16/hour based on experience Full-time position with paid training Medical benefits included Opportunity to work in a critical, fast-paced healthcare support role If you’re dependable, detail-oriented, and ready to make a difference in emergency medical services, we’d love to hear from you!
