Fleet Dispatcher The Position Responsibilities:
The Fleet Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating and directing vessel movements, ensuring efficient logistics and maintaining communication with tugboat personnel and clients. This position will provide 24-hour communication with customers and employees to schedule and dispatch on-call tankerman and dock operators to specific job sites. Dispatchers will enter data specific information to each job into a computer program, monitor the projected vessel arrival time at the designated dock, and then select an appropriate tankerman or dock operator to meet the vessel and load or discharge the cargo. Dispatchers will receive data from field personnel and enter information for payroll and billing purposes. The job requires data entry, planning, communication and problem solving. Dispatchers will also receive reports of incidents from field employees and initiate the appropriate company response including information entry into the incident reporting systems. The nature of the field of work is 24/7, so you will be expected to be available by cell phone during non-business hours. This position will be based out of Sulphur, Louisiana.
Key Responsibilities:
Marine scheduling for the 199 Southern Devall Fleet @ Mississippi River Mile 199 Invoicing for all barge movements. (fleeting and shifting) Maintain website tracking for bulk liquid shipment orders. Communicate with customers on orders of loading/discharging barges Answer calls and emails from customers and assess their needs Data entry, filing and other clerical functions. Open communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of Federal Maritime Regulations & Marine Transportation Knowledge of Maritime Facility and Vessel Security Regulations Required Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge of office management systems and procedures Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Thorough understanding of event planning practices and techniques. Possess high levels of attention to detail, discernment, and good judgement. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent Some college or applicable and equivalent experience required. Marine experience preferred Demonstrate computer skills: proficient with MS office (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook) Good work ethics, positive attitude and team player
