Summary We are seeking a Dispatch Assistant to join our dynamic team at Cord Moving and Storage. Reporting to the Dispatch Manager, the Dispatch Assistant will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day route operations while upholding the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and customer service. This role requires strong communication skills, the ability to work effectively with drivers and clients, and a proactive approach to problem solving.

Shift:

Monday-Friday; 8a-5p (Saturdays as needed)

Responsibilities:

Assist with

Daily Route Operations:

Monitor and manage the real-time execution of routes to ensure on-time performance and adherence to schedules. Proactively identify and address potential delays or issues that may impact service delivery

Driver Communication Support:

Maintain consistent and clear communication with management and drivers throughout their shifts. Provides necessary information, addresses driver’s concerns, and assists with any on-road challenges they may encounter, support Dispatch Manager in all areas.

Client Communication and Issue Resolution:

Addressing inquiries, resolving service issues, and relaying pertinent information to customers, management and drivers.

Other Duties:

Assist with payroll and timecard records for local crews, utilize transportation management systems to track shipments and optimize routes, cross-train in other areas to provide comprehensive support to others on the team, and other duties as assigned. Requirements Proven dispatch experience in the transportation industry is a plus. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data effectively. Familiarity with transportation management systems is a plus. Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills are essential. Knowledge of supply chain processes and fleet management is beneficial. Fundamental knowledge of transportation and routing in the US. Microsoft Office Experience.
