Transit Bus Dispatcher• 3.6 3.6 out of 5 stars 341 Ja Max Drive, Hillsborough, NC 27278 JOB The Orange County Transportation Services Department has an opening for a Transit Bus Dispatcher. An employee in this class has responsibility of providing outstanding customer service and acting as a peer leader to drivers. An employee in this class is responsible for dispatching public transit buses and Mobility on Demand vans, scheduling drivers, keeping time records, collecting bus fare monies, bus driving, and may assist with training drivers. Responsibility includes selecting the correct funding source for passengers, assigning passengers to appropriate routes, and assigning appropriate vehicles to routes. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Senior Transit Bus Dispatcher with considerable leeway for independent judgement within the guidelines of established local government procedures and funding source parameters and regulations. Supervision over others is not required of this position. Does related work as required. • This is a safety sensitive position and participation in the Drug and Alcohol Program is required. Background Check is required. Fitness for Duty Assessment is required.
