POSITION SUMMARY
The Slide Dispatcher will provide supervision and controlled participation on the water slide, help with events and tend to the general tidiness of the aquatic environment. They are responsible for managing these functions in accordance with the stated mission, goals, and policies established by the administrative staff, governing committees, and Board of Directors of the
YMCA. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Maintain a fun, safe and disciplined atmosphere Maintain order at top and bottom of the water slide and deck areas Pick up litter as needed, lower / open umbrellas and clean tables Recognize a water emergency and alert lifeguard by pre-arranged EAP signal. Remain calm, alert while executing emergency evacuations and severe weather alert procedures Communicate program information and other items of interest to patrons Inform supervisor of daily operational needs, problems, and patron feedback Attend staff meetings and training Perform all job tasks within YMCA of the Triangle Area’s program guidelines Work as a Team Player with co-workers and in conjunction with other departments Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS
Must be at least 16 years of age as required by NC Department of Labor. Must obtain certifications through the YMCA in American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid, and Administering Emergency Oxygen (or equivalent) within first 30 days of hire. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community. Multi-lingual desired but not required.
