Operations Coordinator/Dispatcher Confidential Albany, NY 12244
Essential Responsibilities:
The Operations Coordinator/Dispatcherwill possess the ability to handle and manage dispatching for air, sea, and land. This includes organizing freight pickup and delivery for imported goods to assigned locations for on time delivery by coordinating with trucking companies and updating our customers on delivery status as needed. Will understand the documents required for each kind of international dispatch -Air, LCL and FCL. Will have the ability to create a trucker database to draw from for Hot Shots, FCLs, LCLs, Airs, Remote Areas, Bonded Carriers, Standard Carriers by Lane/Account. The Operations Coordinator/Dispatcher will be responsible for communicating with the import team, carriers and direct to customers to ETA updates based on handling the dispatch at that point. The Operations Coordinator/Dispatcher will provide daily shipment management, tracking and ensuring on-time shipments from pick up through delivery Will Assist emergency shipping requests by fulfilling expedited requirements accordingly to various guidelines. The Operations Coordinator/Dispatcher will Provide excellent customer service to clients, handling a high-volume number of inbound and outbound Import requests by phone and email The Operations Coordinator/Dispatcher will calculate dimensions for proper shipping modes. Will identify cost savings through creative solutions. Load, transport, and deliver items to clients or businesses in a safe, timely manner. Operate equipment and machines, such as pallet jacks, forklifts, lift gates etc.
Knowledge & Skills:
Knowledge of International/Domestic Shipments-Airlines, CFS Warehouses, Terminals. Ability to work independently Excellent communication skills (presentation, written and verbal) Expert Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools – Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, etc. Exceptional problem-solving skills, and creative solutions development and execution Other requirements: Valid driver’s license issued by the state where you intend to work. Ability to drive a 26′ box truck. Ability to lift up to 75lbs. Clean driving record. 2 years’ experience required. Ability to walk, drive, lift, and carry heavy items for extended periods.
