- Dispatch receives contact from the public, field staff, contractors, and other divisions to properly document reported complaints and process them for timely resolution.
Current vacancies are in the System Services Division. The primary functions of the position will be receiving reports of infrastructure issues via phone and email, data entry, crew routing/dispatching, maintaining emergency and scheduled shutdowns, evaluating workflow for correctness utilizing various software programs, and other related tasks. Additional positions may be filled from this recruitment. Employees at Metro Water Services (MWS) work around the clock to supply, treat, manage, and protect our water resources in a sustainable manner for the benefit of all who live, work, and play in our community. Our dedicated, diverse workforce provides high-quality drinking water and the best in wastewater treatment, stormwater management, and waste collection services for our customers in the Nashville-Davidson County area. Our employees work together to service more than 210,000 water and 216,000 sewer accounts, along with over 150,000 curbside waste collection customers. We are looking for highly engaged individuals to join our team. Typical Duties + Receive calls from the public, field staff, contractors, other divisions, etc. in professional manner with timely response to resolve. + Properly document reported complaints and process for timely field response utilizing available software systems or other means if necessary. + Maintain notification of shutdowns; Accurately schedule shutdowns, taps, street closures, excavations, etc. as needed. + Notify FD (Fire Dept.) as required for out of service hydrants. + Maintain documentation of complaints and work activities to check for accuracy as necessary for regulatory requirements. + Research using available applications and resources to assist field crews, notify supervisor or section supervisor of problem areas to best document and resolve. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent plus six (6) years of dispatch, applications and/or customer service related experience.
