Dispatcher or 911 Operator
We are seeking a Transportation Technician 3 (TMC Tech III) to support the Transportation Management center in Nashville. This advanced technician role will operate in a traffic control room environment
, monitoring roadways and managing incidents to ensure the safe and efficient movement of traffic
.
This is a critical operations role involving real-time surveillance, system monitoring, and coordination with law enforcement and emergency responders.
Responsibilities:
Monitor roadways using CCTV, detection systems, and ITS (Intelligent Transportation Systems) tools.
Dispatch appropriate responders to scheduled and unscheduled traffic incidents
.
Operate and maintain traffic management software and computer systems
.
Communicate with multiple agencies to coordinate incident responses.
Maintain situational awareness and alertness during long shifts.
Report complex or critical issues to supervisory staff.
Work independently while adhering to established operational procedures.
Required Skills:
Previous experience in call center, dispatch, or control room operations (highly preferred).
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
.
Comfortable using MS Office, MS Outlook, and basic computer systems
.
Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure.
