Full-Time Position Summary:
Priority Wrecker Service (PWS) is seeking an experienced Night Dispatcher to coordinate towing and recovery operations during overnight hours. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience dispatching in the towing and recovery industry, including substantial knowledge of heavy-duty wrecker dispatching . This role requires a proactive communicator, quick problem-solver, and someone who can handle high-pressure situations with professionalism and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor and respond to service calls and dispatch appropriate towing units for light-, medium-, and heavy-duty jobs. Coordinate and communicate clearly with drivers, customers, law enforcement, and roadside partners. Track and document all calls and driver activity using Towbook or comparable dispatch software. Prioritize and schedule calls based on urgency, proximity, and equipment availability. Provide accurate ETAs and updates to customers and clients. Handle after-hours customer inquiries and resolve service issues as they arise. Work closely with management and daytime dispatchers for smooth shift transitions.
Requirements:
3+ years of wrecker dispatching experience , including at least 1 year dispatching heavy-duty wreckers . Strong knowledge of towing procedures, DOT requirements, and equipment capabilities. Proficiency with dispatch software (Towbook preferred). Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to remain calm and make decisions in high-stress situations. Dependable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented. Must pass a background check and drug screening.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience with police rotation, commercial accounts, and motor clubs. Familiarity with the Middle Tennessee area and major transport corridors.
