Full Job Description Job Description General Responsibilities:

Determines the safest, most efficient way to dispatch employees and/or equipment to project sites. Receives and manages incoming service requests (internal and external) to dispatch appropriately trained staff for the assignment. Dispatchers multitask with strong communication skills, maintaining efficient operations while ensuring that resources are scheduled when requested and directed where they are most needed.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:

Answer and manage incoming communications (calls, emails, texts) and dispatch equipment and/or employees with appropriate skills or certifications to precise locations at necessary times. Screens calls and forwards messages of front desk line and scheduling line. Greets visitors and informs office staff of arrival. Learn to prioritize projects and manage logistics according to urgency and importance, utilizing negotiation skills when conflicts arise. Relay information and instruction to employees, their managers, and other project stakeholders (client, contractors, etc.) as appropriate. Under direct supervision, provides general administrative support to the department and/or group of professionals of a basic and routine nature. As the hub for the department, maintain communication with field units to coordinate and prioritize schedules. Dispatch in an incident and injury free manner consistent with Terracon’s guidelines to keep the care and concern of employees a priority. May research and make travel accomodations for department needs. Maintain or assist with maintaining department calendar of meetings, trainings, PTO, multiple peoples’ schedules and needs. Make mailing labels and send mail/packages/freight as needed. Communicate effectively with customers, employees, and leaders. Work with department leadership in developing negotiation strategies to manage resource conflicts among employees, clients and office/regional leadership team. Use materials dashboard, CMELMS and other tools to effectively distribute employees and balance workload. Become familiar with ProjectXChange and all other needed applications. Support other office duties, if needed, and work with others to meet deadlines. Follow safety rules and practices and other safety requirements for all projects. Performs pre-task planning prior to executing work. Report any safety issues or concerns to management. With the help of department leadership, the dispatcher will be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects. Work with all departments to support success at Terracon. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum 1 year of relevant experience such as understanding the field aspect of the job or the equivalent in training and related experience. Ability to use basic technology (mobile apps, email, scheduling software, etc.) and have all necessary Terracon apps on your phone. Time management skills Interpersonal interaction skills Multi-lingual preferred in some markets Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.

Preferred Certification:

IIF Safety Leadership Terracon course obtained within 6 months in role.
