Emergency Management Coordinator Department:

$30.59-$35.56 hourly dependent on knowledge and experience This is a highly skilled and responsible coordinator level position in emergency management. This position requires a strong background in emergency management, infrastructure planning, and coordination, with a proven track record of successfully managing critical infrastructure projects during both routine operations and times of crisis. The Emergency Management Coordinator (EMC) is responsible for the planning, coordination, and implementation of emergency management programs that ensure the city’s preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation capabilities. This position works closely with local, state, and federal agencies, as well as private and non-profit partners, to develop emergency response strategies, conduct training exercises, manage resources, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. This position requires considerable independent judgment and initiative in carrying out assignments to a successful conclusion. Work is performed under the general direction of the Fire Chief and is evaluated through review of attained results.
Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree and;
Three (3) years of experience in emergency management, disaster response, public safety, or a related field. Experience in planning, training, exercise design, logistics, or grant management in emergency management preferred; Or • Combination of education, training, and/or work experience equal to or higher than the requirements listed above as determined by Human Resources.
Necessary Special Requirements:
Possession of an appropriate driver license for equipment operated and any license, training or certification required by law or regulation to complete assigned tasks. Completion of
FEMA IS-100, IS-200, IS-700, IS-800
and IS-2200 within the last five years. FEMA Professional Development Series (PDS) completion preferred or must be obtained within one year of employment. FEMA G/ICS 300, 400, and 2300 must obtain within one year of employment. Additional emergency management, hazard mitigation, or disaster recovery certifications are a plus.
