  • Summary:
  • Responsible for leading the development, implementation, and oversight of the Emergency Management Program for the BayCare Health System.

Provides strategic and operational leadership for Emergency Management Specialists across the Hospital Division, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards set by The Joint Commission, AHCA, and other relevant agencies. Key responsibilities include the creation and evaluation of Emergency Operations Plans, Comprehensive Emergency Management Plans, and related policies and procedures; coordination and leadership during Hospital Incident Command Center activations; and system-wide training in emergency management practices. Serves as a liaison between BayCare leadership and external local, state, and federal agencies to support integrated response efforts during community emergencies. Reports activities and findings, such as goals, metrics, and annual evaluation through the appropriate BayCare Leadership and Board Committees, including the BayCare Environment of Care Committee structure.

  • Certified Healthcare Emergency Professional (CHEP) certification is required within 2 years of being eligible for sitting for the exam.
Required:

Bachelors and 6 years work experience in Emergency Management with 2 years leadership role or High School/equivalent and 10 years work experience in Emergency Management with 2 years leadership role.

Preferred:

2 years healthcare setting.
