As part of the Walt Disney World ® Resort Security Operations leadership team, you will be part of a tradition of excellence that extends for decades. The Emergency Preparedness Manager will be responsible to plan, coordinate and implement activities to mitigate, prepare, respond to and recover from emergencies and disasters. This position will report to the Emergency Management Senior Security Manager Responsibilities Aid in the development, implementation, and coordination of Emergency Management/Preparedness and Business Continuity plans Prepare, write, update, edit, and review emergency plans, standard operating guidelines, and job aids for all possible hazards Develop and conduct emergency management training for the Security Division and other Lines of Business Conduct and evaluate emergency management exercises and drills that test the protocols and procedures, resolving the efficiency and functionality of such plans Perform duties as the Emergency Management Duty Officer to include gathering and disseminating hazard threat information, responding to incident scenes to provide assistance, acting as a liaison to agencies, and updating Senior Security Leadership of response actions Ensure operational readiness and assist in the activation of the Emergency Operation Center or other incident facilities when activated Sustain partnerships with County and State Divisions of Emergency Management, National Weather Service, and Federal Emergency Management Agency Maintain lists of all critical emergency contacts that the company may need in an emergency situation Interpret National Hurricane Center, National Weather Service, and/or contracted weather agencies bulletins, watches, and warnings and relay that information to Company Executives Assures operational capability by inventorying, inspecting, and testing response equipment, radios, supplies, vehicles, and facility systems Build security plans through active onstage leadership Make decisions on security issues and incidents, judging the urgency, response, and the need to further escalate Build relationships with peers, partners, and supporting law enforcement Incorporate the lens of Leadership, Management, Technical skills, and Relationships (LMTR) in daily functions and interactions Create an environment of inclusion where diverse thoughts and ideas are recognized Basic Qualifications Willing and available to be placed on a flexible schedule working any shift (day, swing, grave), or day of the week, including nights, weekends and holidays Minimum 1 year of leadership or decision-making experience in a relevant field Minimum of 3 years of experience in Crisis Management, Emergency Management, or Disaster Preparedness Knowledge and ability to work under the Incident Command System Demonstrated ability to train, lead, and engage Cast effectively Ability to think critically and communicate information effectively to all levels of leadership Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to remain calm and communicate effectively in crisis scenarios Preferred Qualifications Experience leading in a unionized environment Project or Event management experience One year or more of leadership or decision-making experience in a relevant field CEM (Certified Emergency Manager), CBCP (Certified Business Continuity Professional), ARM (Associate in Risk Management), CSP (Certified Safety Professional), CPP (Certified Protection Professional), or similar certifications Knowledge of Community Emergency Response Team programs Required Education High school diploma or equivalent Preferred Education Bachelor’s degree or equivalent Additional Information Disney offers a rewards package to help you live your best life.
