This OpportunityWSP is currently initiating a search for an Emergency Manager, Response to join our Emergency Management Team and work out of Atlanta, GA. Be involved with our Federal Programs Team and a part of a growing organization that meets our clients’ objectives and solves their challenges. This position is not remote and is not eligible for relocation assistance.
Your Impact Leading Emergency Management (preparedness, mitigation, response and recovery) projects, field operations, and emergency management staff. Performing in lead role in Emergency Operations Center and/or Field Staging Area operations prior to, during, and post disaster. Lead Emergency Management strategic business development pursuits. Leading Strategic Initiatives within the Emergency Management Practice. Lead preparedness activities (including exercises) as well post-event activities (including After Action Reviews) for the Emergency Management team. Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Who You AreRequired Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, or equivalent experience in the area of expertise; experience may be substituted for the required education. 5 years experience in Emergency/Disaster/Crisis management. Advanced knowledge of Emergency management principles, including but not limited to Emergency Preparedness, Mitigation, Response and Recovery operations. Proven leadership, staff supervision and management skills. Travel Required – Must be able to deploy with little or no advance notice to anywhere in the United States and its territories for an extended period of time. Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies. Preferred Qualifications Masters Degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, or similar/related concentration. Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) registration. Project Management Professional (PMP) registration. Previous experience in government entities and/or military. ,
