Coordinates planning efforts among agencies in support of the State’s implementation of the State Recovery Plan and associated plan annexes and procedures. Responsible for development of standard operating procedures to document internal processes associated with recovery support to local governments and state management of federal disaster recovery grant programs. Provides support to counties in the development of local disaster recovery plans. Coordinates and leads meetings among local, state, and federal stakeholders. Supports and leads other planning projects as required. Provides recommendations to Recovery and Mitigation leadership on issues that require action or attention. During emergencies, serves in a recovery operations or planning role in the State Emergency Operations Center, which may require extended shifts or overnight travel to support disaster recovery efforts. Minimum and Additional Requirements A bachelor’s degree and understanding of emergency planning required. Experience in emergency management or disaster recovery preferred. Preferred Qualifications S.C. Certified Emergency Manager (or other state equivalent) certification is preferred or will seek to complete within three years. Additional Comments Planning, writing, and/or editing experience preferred. Must possess knowledge of the plans and functions of emergency management at local, state and national levels. Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with local and state organizations involved in emergency management or response.
