Full Job Description Annual Salary:
$62,508 – $67,082 Rutherford County Emergency Management Agency is seeking a dedicated and highly organized Emergency Management Planner to join our team. This role involves preparing, coordinating, and updating emergency plans and procedures in alignment with local, state, and federal requirements related to Homeland Security. The successful candidate will support the agency’s strategic planning, continuity of operations planning, mitigation planning, and ensure the readiness of the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) and any designated alternate EOCs.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, coordinate, and update emergency plans and procedures. Prepare the agency strategic plan and continuity of operations planning. Support mitigation planning efforts. Ensure activation readiness of the EOC and designated alternate EOCs. Collaborate with local, state, and federal agencies on emergency management initiatives. Respond promptly to on-call duties and emergency situations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Emergency Management, Fire Science, Business Management, or a related field. Minimum of two (2) years of experience in Emergency Management operations, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess or obtain within six (6) months: Incident Command System (ICS) 100, 200, 300, 400, 700, and 800 certifications. Current CPR certification. TEMA or TCACA Hazardous Materials Operations level certification. Completion of FEMA Professional Development Series and Instructor Methodology within two years. Valid Tennessee driver’s license. Completion of EVOC and Vanessa K. Free training annually. Residency within one hour of the Emergency Management department within 180 days of employment.
