Facilities Specialist Position Available In Jefferson, Alabama

Facilities Specialist Birmingham, AL System One is currently seeking a Facilities Specialist on a 12 month contract position located in Birmingham, AL.

Facilities Specialist Responsibilities:

+ Daily travel to company Public Recreation Sites + Day-to-day maintenance and repairs of the buildings/equipment/grounds/piers/boat ramps & roads. + Assist coordinating with external service providers for maintenance and repairs. + Build and maintain relationships with vendors and service providers, including contractors, and security personnel. + Assist with obtaining quotes, negotiating contracts, and ensuring services are delivered as agreed. + Assist with Implementing and enforcing safety and security protocols for the Public Recreation Facility & Shoreline Surveillance Assist with conducting safety inspections and assessments. + Promote and implement sustainable practices within the site, such as waste reduction and energy conservation. + Maintain records and documentation related to facilities, repairs, and maintenance activities.

Facilities Specialist Requirements:

+ Experience and working knowledge of land and building management and maintenance + Experience with hand and power tools, general maintenance/repairs and construction, oversight of construction projects, landscape maintenance + Experience with site development projects that include earth work, carpentry, and masonry. + Experience of safely and efficiently operating heavy equipment + Experience with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance projects + Good time management skills + Possess Class A Commercial Driver’s license or acquire Class A Commercial Driver’s license within 1 year of accepting position. + Self-starter – extensive travel throughout the reservoir system throughout the state is required and this position often will be required to work alone and with minimal supervision + Comfortable working in public settings including interacting with the public at recreation sites + Ability to prioritize tasks and follow specified procedures + Ability to apply understanding to carry out detailed oral or written instructions + Ability to complete scheduled checklist on maintenance procedures and inspections + Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds + Ability to work in all weather conditions + Carpentry and concrete experience are preferable + Ability to quickly respond to emergency maintenance request including on weekends as required + High school diploma or equivalent required
