Overview

Based in our Birmingham office, you’ll lead day-to-day HR operations and facilities oversight with both strategic insight and hands-on care. This is an in-person role and may occasionally require availability outside of standard business hours.

    Core Responsibilities
    Talent & Onboarding
  • Partner with hiring managers to maintain up-to-date job descriptions and manage postings in BambooHR
  • Lead recruitment coordination and candidate communication with care and responsiveness
  • Plan onboarding experiences that go beyond logistics to inspire belonging from day one
  • Collaborate with the Student Experience Team to support intern recruitment and engagement
    Culture & Employee Experience
  • Serve as a culture steward
  • fostering inclusion, wellness, and team connection through internal events and initiatives
  • Act as a trusted advocate and empathetic listener for employee concerns or conflicts
  • Support performance review processes, growth planning, and feedback cycles
    Compliance & Policy Management
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws
  • Ensure our employee handbook reflects current policies and cultural commitments
  • Handle employee data, investigations, and sensitive issues with integrity and discretion
    Benefits & Systems Support
  • Support benefit administration and open enrollment in partnership with VP, HR
  • Manage documentation in BambooHR and Employee Navigator with a high level of accuracy
  • Identify opportunities to streamline or automate through smarter use of HR tech
    Facilities Oversight & Office Operations
  • Manage the functionality, cleanliness, and safety of the Birmingham office
  • Oversee vendor relationships, office purchases, and workplace readiness
  • Partner with the Office & Team Support Lead to ensure seamless day-to-day operations
  • Lead emergency preparedness planning and employee safety communication
    Offboarding & Transitions
  • Guide smooth and respectful offboarding experiences
  • Conduct exit interviews to gather insights and identify patterns
  • Coordinate logistics around departures in collaboration with IT and manager

    What You Bring
  • 5+ years of HR and/or office operations experience (agency or creative environment a plus)
  • Strong grasp of employment laws and HR compliance
  • Experience using HR platforms like BambooHR and/or Employee Navigator
  • High emotional intelligence, strong communication skills, and a talent for relationship-building
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity and adapting to new challenges with confidence
  • A genuine passion for helping people and teams succeed
