Job Highlights :
Gathers information by meeting with key stakeholders to develop project plans including but not limited to Information Technologies, space requirements, layouts and design best practices, workflow assessment, and construction project management insight. Identifies similarities and differences among stakeholders and determines the impact on project plans. Develop strategies for keeping projects on task and within parameters agreed to during design and programming. Identifies quick wins to develop positive and tangible outcomes for the UAB community to build momentum. Meets with customers and leaders to make decisions and prioritize milestones to keep projects on track and on budget. Executes the plan and sets milestones and targets, then monitors and adjusts according to the overall project plan and goals. Job Description:
1. Provides overall project management for construction/renovation projects including budgets, coordinating design and cost estimate processes, development of plans and schedules, reviewing documents, managing construction and commissioning, and resolving conflicts. 2. Develops, secures approval of, implements, and administers project budgets, bid proposals and specifications. Conducts periodic review and reconciliation of project finances. 3. Conducts and participates in meetings with architects, contractors, consultants, schedulers, building users/occupants and others that are related to specific projects. 4. Coordinates construction activities with the contractor, end users, building occupants, architect, maintenance, support services, and Project Specialist. 5. Inspects construction job sites and reviews work for compliance with documents, progress of work, potential or actual delays, deficiencies in design, and resolves construction and contractual issues or problems. 6. Reviews and recommends contractor pay requests, change orders, agreements, agreement amendments and other financial or legal requests. 7. Maintains and/or verifies maintenance or project records, databases and related documentation. 8. Performs project close out and ensures that all documents have been submitted/processed appropriately. Assists the director in development of design and construction standards and specifications. 9. Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Building Science, Architecture, Interior Design or related field and five (5) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.

Must maintain a valid driver s license, issued in the United States. Motor Vehicle Record will be obtained and reviewed at least annually. Driving record should meet University underwriting standards to drive vehicle in performance of University business. Currently licensed as a Professional Engineer by the State of Alabama Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers and Professional Land Surveyors or eligible to apply to the State of Alabama Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers and Professional Land Surveyors preferred.
LEED AP, CEFP, CFM
certifications preferred.
