The Boeing Company Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for an Experienced Facilities Plant Maintenance Specialist to join our dynamic team in Kennedy Space Center, Florida. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Facilities Plant Maintenance Spec for the ESG site. This role would also be expected to support the facilities team with projects and oversight of some contracted services. The successful candidate would be a quick learner with a focus on customer service who enjoys the opportunity to work on a variety of tasks both as an individual and as part of a team. Position Responsibilities:

General knowledge of building codes, regulations and safety procedures With limited supervision, constructs commercial office space by providing overall construction capabilities Is familiar with building codes and is able to read more complex blueprints Responds to trouble calls and resolves a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity Repairs and maintains plant and office facilities equipment and demonstrates advanced skill level in these areas Is able to interpret basic schematics and diagrams May provide guidance to less experienced employees Under general guidance, reviews customer requirements and may evaluate product capabilities Has demonstrated ability to use a variety of hand and power tools to construct, renovate and repair facilities and equipment May receive specialized equipment training May provide training to peers and/or customers on the general use of equipment Possesses knowledge of custodial tasks and cleaning processes to include clean room environments. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. This position is for 1st shift. This position requires the ability to obtain a clearance for access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility. This position requires an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.) Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Active Top-Secret clearance More than 2 years of experience in Facilities plant maintenance More than 2 years of Mechanical/Electrical experience Ability to lift at least 40lbs Ability to work at heights over 25 feet Excellent time management skills Able to work nights and weekends if needed Able to work on-call if needed Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): High School Diploma or GED Experience monitoring & coordinating implementation activities such as relocations, construction, utility shutdowns, budget management, schedule, and project reviews Possesses knowledge of custodial tasks and cleaning processes to include clean room environments. Experience working across organizations and cross-functional groups to ensure project coordination, implementation and completion Ability to work independently Forklift or Man lift experience

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 4 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate+2 years’ related work, Bachelor, etc.)

Position may require travel up to 5% of the time.

Summary pay range:
