The Fuel Facilities Compliance Manager is responsible for defining the process of accomplishing objectives, technical planning, and delivery of high-quality compliance and permit projects, including the training and onboarding of project team members, quality control activities, task duration and timeline evaluations, and technical progress against objectives and milestones. The Fuel Facilities Compliance Manager will work alongside external clients and Pinnacle Project Managers to steward project updates and reporting, budget alignment and tracking, and resource skillset development. Additionally, this role is responsible for collaborating cross-functionally across departments, including but not limited to; Business Development to support revenue growth of the permit and compliance service line, Human Resources for resource training and development, and Research and Development for increasing Pinnacle’s industry knowledge for this service area.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for managing the critical path development and technical planning and delivery of high-quality permit and compliance projects, identifying client requirements, and cultivating client relationships, developing a plan for progress against objectives and milestones, technical quality control activities, and resource skillset advisement and training to ensure timely completion and final delivery of a solution to meet client requirements. Support effective and efficient project management, including but not limited to supporting the creation of project strategy and critical path while tracking progress against technical deliverables Training and mentoring project team members by providing technical guidance and support, assessing project team member skillsets, and addressing any gaps in quality and operations that affect the delivery of a high-quality solution offering. Strive to deliver high-quality work personally, ensuring attention to detail and excellence in areas where team size and resources are limited, stepping in to perform tasks directly when necessary. Proactively identifies and anticipates potential known and unknown technical project issues and works alongside Project Manager to swiftly implement the appropriate solution. Leading external client project interactions and meetings, including the cultivation and maintenance of positive client, consultants, and industry related relationships. Communicate effectively with clients, team members and internal constituents to resolve matters in a timely and satisfactory manner. Working alongside small to larger project teams (located on-site and remotely) by supporting the Project Manager with understanding task durations against timelines for setting workloads and providing technical coaching and development of project team members. Create a comprehensive understanding of Pinnacle ability to offer compliance and adjacent capabilities to share with clients; work with CEO and President to define service expansion plans to further develop ability to service market. Performing and setting quality control procedures on all project tasks prior to project launch and client reporting. Supporting the preparation of various technical reports for external clients and internal Pinnacle leadership, as requested. Maintaining training documents and project standard operating procedures for all Compliance projects, Permit projects, providing hands-on training to project team members as needed. Working alongside Business Development and Pinnacle Sr. Technical Lead to support the revenue growth of the Compliance service line and Permit service line, including supporting the content funnel, sales meetings, client interactions, technical KPI management, service descriptions, etc. Ensuring compliance with relevant corporate policies and standards.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

Must be knowledgeable in permit processes, applications, and research. Ability to comprehend and adhere to UST regulations of multiple states and understand environmental remediation activities, permit processing, and liability issues. Work requires an extensive knowledge of business communications and an excellent command of the English language, both oral and written, for contact with environmental engineers, state regulators, contractors, and subcontractors. Ability to effectively communicate and present information to clients in formal presentations including development and/or editing of Pinnacle subject matter Newsletters on various topics. Must have knowledge of a variety of computer software applications/platforms and the ability to learn proprietary in-house systems and client relationship management systems (CRM). MS Office Suites (Word, PowerPoint with emphasis on strong Excel skills). Must have a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact, and diplomacy. Knowledge of environmental remediation activities. Work requires an aptitude for working with an attention to detail in composing, typing, and proofing materials, documents, and claims. Motivated self-starter, able to work with limited supervision. Superior problem solving and decision-making skills with excellent analytical ability are required to gather and summarize data for reports and find solutions to various client problems. Ability to travel by airline for meetings and presentations to support client needs. Flexibility to quickly adapt to change. Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and excel in a fast paced and dynamic work environment. Work well in a team-oriented, dynamic environment and be able to recommend and implement process improvements, while also able to work independently, prioritize workload and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to create a positive team culture with internal program management teams by establishing expectations, implementing accountability standards, and providing positive feedback. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of staffing/industry experience, or the equivalent combination of education and industry experience, required. Minimum three (3) years experience in a client-oriented position. Required at least three (3) years’ experience in the LUST/Trust fund industry, environmental regulations, and or permit/compliance, other related experience or work performance may compensate.
