Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Recreation Supervisor, this position is responsible for programming of a recreation facility in order to provide clean and safe opportunities for sport and recreation programs and promote a healthy lifestyle for all community residents. Assists with planning and developing sport and recreation programs, implementing them to ensure that activities and events are made available for all community members. Facilitate all maintenance throughout facility, courts, and property. Work is reviewed through oral and written reports, discussion, and results obtained.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
The following duties are illustrative and not ehaustive. Depending on assigned area of responsibility, incumbents in the position may perform some or all of the activities described below. Tennis court maintenance including sweeping/raking courts, lining, cleaning nets & fountains, blowing clay from under nets and fences, hanging windscreens, laying clay in low areas, spraying for weeds, removing algae from courts, emptying courtside trash bins, and maintaining maintenance work and storage area. Basic irrigation work. Oversee facility maintenance; opens and closes facilities; ensures cleanliness of facilities, restrooms, and balconies. Locks and unlocks doors and windows at appropriate times; checks lights; sets and clears security alarm; and maintains temperature settings of heat or air conditioning. Communicates court maintenance issues, supply needs, work orders, and vehicle maintenance logs to appropriate channels. Ensures adequate inventory of equipment and supplies for the area of assignment; reports damage, losses or maintenance needs to supervisor. Collaborate with Tennis Center Supervisor to plan maintenance involving special events, tournaments, leagues, and clinics appropriate to the operation of assigned area. Arranges facilities, meeting rooms and equipment according to daily schedules, programs, and projects of the assigned area. Performs routine cleaning and/or maintenance of assigned grounds, courts, facilities, parks, equipment, and inspects such for proper and safe operating conditions. Operates a personal computer to enter, retrieve, review or modify data, utilizing Microsoft Word, Ecel, Publisher, Recreation Software, word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation, Internet, e-mail, or other software; and operates general office or other equipment as necessary to complete essential functions. Ensures all administrative work performed is properly recorded, filed, and processed according to department policy and procedure. Ensure all storm preparation is completed. Performs other job duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Ability to lead, supervise and manage staff and volunteers. Knowledge of development, procedure, and administration of recreational and sports programs as well as scheduling/tournament bracketing. Ability to perform public relations activities. Superior customer service skills. Ability to perform administrative support functions. Eperience working with youth, adults, and/or senior citizens. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Self-starter, showing initiative, and able to work independently and follow instructions. Ability to work fleible hours, such as 7:00 am to 4:00 pm or 12:00 to 9:00 pm, on various weekdays, weeknights, and/or weekends as needed for special projects and scheduled events. Proficient in the use of desktop computers and programs (such as Microsoft office: Word, Ecel, Publisher, Access, Outlook), web-based program-facility scheduling systems, financial management software systems (such as Tyler Munis and Tyler Cashiering), copier, fa, and social media. Ability to develop innovative ways of enhancing recreation programs and generating revenues for recreation and park facilities, including securing corporate and civic club sponsorships.
Education and Eperience:
Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalent diploma. Two (2) years of eperience in recreation, parks, and/or sports setting. A combination of education, training, and eperience may be substituted at the City Manager’s discretion.
Certificates and Licenses :
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver’s license and must be insurable by the City’s current insurance provider. National Incident Management System (NIMS) training will be required according to the job duties and responsibilities within one (1) year of employment.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervises part-time staff and volunteers.

Emergency Responsibilities :
