The facilities technician serves an important role in ensuring that buildings and mechanical systems are functioning properly and efficiently. The facilities technician will monitor and report building and grounds issues to the Facilities Program Manager. They tackle everything from routine maintenance to identifying issues and coordinating with service providers.
Work will be performed for Apopka Service Center, Geneva Field Station, Apopka Field Station, and Sunnyhill Field Station.
Job duties include:
Perform or coordinate routine maintenance for District buildings; for example, HVAC such as changing air filters; minor plumbing maintenance and repair such as changing faucets; painting offices and common areas. Coordinates with manager for more complex maintenance requirements.
Responds to facilities requests (employee-generated work orders) in support of District staff and functions (District events and meetings), including assembling, installing, and moving furniture and office equipment.
Oversee and support the janitorial contracted service to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
Create and complete routine work orders and file completion requirements in the electronic work order system (TMA).Recommends repairs and required maintenance projects in the respective area of responsibility as well as coordinating and monitoring the progress of contracted service providers and contractors, reporting on progress and gaps to the Facilities Program Manager.
Perform facility inspections, including safety and health inspections and correct or report deficiencies.
Minimum Qualifications:
A high school diploma or G.E.D. and experience performing similar tasks as stated above.
