Facilities Manager Calusa Nature Center and Planetarium Fort Myers, FL Job Details Full-time $17 an hour 2 days ago Benefits Paid time off Qualifications Mid-level Microsoft Office High school diploma or GED Supervising experience Organizational skills Power tools Maintenance management Hand tools Time management Full Job Description Facilities and Grounds Maintenance Coordinator Calusa Nature Center and Planetarium (CNCP) Full-Time | Up to 40 Hours/Week | $17.00/Hour Calusa Nature Center and Planetarium (CNCP) is a nonprofit organization with the mission of “Inspiring People to Connect with Nature.” CNCP serves the Southwest Florida community and visiting guests through environmental education, care for non-releasable rehabilitated wildlife, astronomy programs, and stewardship of the natural environment. We are seeking a dedicated Facilities and Grounds Maintenance Coordinator to oversee the upkeep and safety of our buildings and grounds, ensuring a welcoming and functional environment for staff, volunteers, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee maintenance, repairs, and general upkeep of all buildings, grounds, and natural areas Ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for staff, volunteers, program participants, and guests Conduct regular inspections to identify safety hazards and maintenance needs Identify areas on the property requiring immediate attention or rehabilitation and provide remediation using power tools, hand tools, and manual labor Maintain facilities and natural areas to appear in safe, healthy, and presentable condition Maintain and repair tools, equipment, vehicles, and other assets Develop and implement a maintenance and natural lands management log Collaborate with the Executive Director to prioritize property needs and create action plans for improvements and repairs Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and service providers for facility projects and repairs Support logistics and facility setup for special events and programs Maintain an organized inventory of tools, materials, and supplies Train, supervise, and work alongside volunteers on daily and special projects Perform additional duties as assigned to support the mission of

CNCP Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required Experience working with power tools, hand tools, and performing general maintenance tasks Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications Excellent time management and organizational skills Strong personal initiative, motivation, and attention to detail Enjoy working outdoors and a passion for protecting the environment Interest in learning about Southwest Florida’s ecosystems and identifying native, non-native, and invasive species Ability to work independently and in a collaborative, team-based environment

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Comfortable walking, standing, and working outdoors for extended periods Ability to climb ladders and handle physical tasks such as clearing brush and using landscaping equipment
