Position SummaryProvides leadership and direction to Facilities Development Team for design and construction activities in support of developing, maintaining, and/or improving corporate assets. Directors will be assigned to a service line of Hospitals, OHMG/Ambulatory/Corp., or New Buildings and skill sets and experience will match line of business served. •Must have experience with hospital construction to be considered• Why is Orlando Health your best place to work? Responsibilities Assists in directing, coordinating and scheduling work assignments in the production of new facilities or the repair and renovation of existing facilities. Ensures adherence to and compliance with industry design and construction standards. Oversees the construction project cost estimating process and assists in developing overall project budgets. Oversees project review processes and ensures compliance with standards, codes, regulations, laws and guidelines. Manages the commissioning process for projects and post occupancy evaluations. Monitors design and construction to ensure compliance with contractual requirements. Participatesin the project vendor selection process and in evaluating the performance of firmsrendering services. Establishes and maintains contact with organizations, government agencies and educational and health care institutions. Leads the Facilities Development Team in maintaining positive and productive relationships with internal and external customers. Leads the Facilities Development Team in working cross-functionally across the organization to ensure successful delivery of projects. Manages various human resources functions including hiring, work assignments, coaching plans, and performance counseling. Develops and updates departmental project management standards and protocols. Develops and successfully delivers on the annual departmental operational budget. Maintain functional knowledge and use of the eBuilder project management system. Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards. Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
QualificationsEducation:
Bachelor s degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or related field(s)of study. If a candidate does not have a bachelor s degree, but has completed some college (1-2 yrs.), an equivalent qualification would be having at least 20 years of progressive health care design and construction experience having completed Florida AHCA projects, and professional development credentials including A Florida General Contractors License and completed certification as an AHA Certified Health Care Constructor.
Licensure/Certification:
State of Florida Certified General Contractor s license, active licensed professional architect or engineer, or being an AHA Certified Healthcare Constructor is desired but not required, however 1-2 t are required if a bachelor s degree has not been earned.
Experience:
Ten years minimum of progressively responsible construction management, engineering, facilities planning, or architecture experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
