out of 5 stars North Palm Beach, FL 33408 The Benjamin School North Palm Beach and Palm Beach Gardens, Florida Director of Facilities/Safety Security 2025-2026 The Benjamin School is seeking a Director of Facilities/Safety and Security to join our team. The Director of Facilities/Safety and Security is responsible for the strategic oversight, management, and daily operations of all physical facilities, safety, and security functions across the Benjamin School’s two campuses located in North Palm Beach, FL and Palm Beach Gardens, FL. This includes maintenance, custodial services, groundskeeping, construction, physical plant operations, safety, and campus security. The Director ensures that the school’s buildings, grounds, and physical infrastructure support a safe, healthy, and inspiring learning environment.
Facilities Management Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the maintenance and operation of all buildings, mechanical systems, and grounds on both campuses
- Lead and support a team culture focused on customer service, accountability, and excellence
- Supervise and train facilities personnel across both campuses
- Manage relationships with contractors, vendors, and service providers, including the cleaning company, landscaping company, and security company
- Along with the CFO/COO, plan and supervise campus improvement projects, renovations, and capital upgrades
- Develop and manage a preventive maintenance program for all equipment and systems
- Develop and monitor annual and long-term facilities budgets
- Ensure compliance with all relevant codes, regulations, and safety standards
- Collaborate closely with school leadership, faculty, and staff to meet campus needs and priorities
- Participate in school-wide planning for capital projects and risk management
- Perform other duties as assigned
Safety and Security Key Responsibilities:
- Work with the security directors at both campuses to coordinate all aspects of campus security and emergency preparedness, including safety drills and staff training, which include fire, lockdown, and evacuation procedures
- Oversee the development of the school’s security policies and emergency response plans, making sure there is cohesion between the two campuses
- Coordinate with the technology department to oversee access control, video surveillance, alarm systems, and school safety protocols
- Evaluate and recommend any needed security upgrades or programs
- Serve as primary liaison to law enforcement, fire departments, and emergency responders
- Manage weekly schedules for the contracted security teams.

Chief Financial Officer/Chief Operations Officer Qualifications:
- Minimum of 7 years experience in facilities and security management, ideally in an educational or multi-site setting
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Construction, Facilities Management, Engineering, Security Management, or related field preferred
- Related licenses (general contractor, building inspector) or certifications (e.g., PMP, CFM, CPP) preferred
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience
- Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance practices, safety protocols, and security technology
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to respond to emergencies after hours and on weekends as needed

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
- Ability to work in excess of 8 hours a day, as well as evening and weekend hours as necessary
- Frequently lift equipment and materials weighing up to 50 pounds
- Crawl, climb ladders, twist, turn, and reach in completing a variety of job duties
- Work outside in hot or cold conditions for extended periods of time
- Work in a wide variety of environments as found in all areas of the school
