The Systems Manager plays a key role in maintaining the performance, safety, and reliability of data center facilities and critical infrastructure. This leadership position involves overseeing daily operations, managing internal teams, coordinating with vendors, and supporting client requirements. The ideal candidate brings a balance of technical expertise and operational leadership to ensure optimal service delivery in a highly dynamic and secure environment.
Essential Functions:
Ensure continuous availability of critical systems through proactive oversight and emergency response readiness Lead, mentor, and develop a team of onsite technicians across multiple facilities Manage facility maintenance, safety procedures, and infrastructure-related projects Foster productive relationships with clients, ensuring adherence to installation and operational standards Oversee scheduling, staffing, and coordination of 24/7 coverage at assigned sites Contribute to operational planning, budget forecasting, and process improvement initiatives Utilize CMMS and other management tools for asset tracking and performance validation Maintain compliance with safety, regulatory, and internal quality standards Represent operations in cross-functional meetings, audits, and leadership reviews Support recruiting, onboarding, and internal training programs for team development
Qualifications:
Strong working knowledge of data center mechanical and electrical systems (e.g., UPS, cooling, power distribution, fire suppression) Minimum 3 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity within technical, facilities, or production environments Ability to read and interpret technical documents, schematics, and site plans Experience coordinating third-party vendors and contractors Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Outlook OSHA 30 certification preferred; other industry certifications are a plus High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or relevant work experience preferred
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
Fast-paced, 24/7 operations environment with rotating on-call responsibilities Requires occasional travel and flexibility for off-hours support Regular physical activity including lifting (up to 50 lbs), climbing ladders, and extended periods of standing or walking Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required in certain environments
