Facilities Specialist 4.2 4.2 out of 5 stars Sugar Hill, GA 30518 About this role: The Facilities Specialist plays a key role in maintaining the physical integrity, functionality, and readiness of the church campus. This is a hands-on position responsible for a wide range of maintenance tasks, in-house repairs, and facility improvement projects. While primarily a hands-on role, the Facilities Specialist may also help lead or train part-time staff depending on experience and organizational needs. The ideal candidate is someone who not only takes pride in fixing what’s broken, but also values the people they work alongside. This role interfaces regularly with staff, volunteers, and other ministries, and requires a steady, servant-hearted presence. Compensation :
This is a full-time, exempt salaried position with an annual salary range of $45,000 to $55,000, based on skillset and experience.

Knowledge in facilities maintenance and repair skills Hands-on experience with a range of maintenance tasks, including (but not limited to) electrical, plumbing, flooring, woodworking, painting, and drywall repair. Primary Responsibilities:
Perform routine and preventive maintenance across campus, including (but not limited to) electrical, plumbing, painting, flooring, and general repairs Lead and execute in-house facility improvement projects and repairs with minimal oversight Provide support for urgent facility needs. Guide and support Facilities Assistants and Interns in daily tasks, ensuring quality work and alignment with team standards (management responsibilities will be dependent on experience) Contribute to a healthy and collaborative team environment, modeling servant leadership and accountability Assist in maintaining building systems and equipment, including (but not limited to) performing regular checks on medical equipment, door functionally, lights, water heaters, electrical systems, HVAC, etc. Coordinate with the Facilities & Operations Pastor on project timelines Ensure workspaces, storage areas, and mechanical rooms are safe, organized, and well-maintained This role requires frequent interaction with staff and volunteers across ministries. A collaborative, patient, and clear communication style—paired with strong listening skills and a willingness to understand the needs of others—is essential. Assist with event setup or teardown when needed and maintain awareness of calendar-based facility impacts Participate in a weekend on-call rotation approximately twice per month to respond to urgent facility needs
Your Schedule:
While the workweek typically follows a Sunday through Thursday rhythm, this role requires flexibility and is expected to adapt to the church calendar. General on-site hours follow a 40-50 hour per week rhythm depending on seasonal ministry needs, with occasional evening or weekend coverage as required.
