Position:
Assistant Area Manager The Assistant Area Manager is responsible for assisting the Area manager in all aspects of managing their assigned production departments while continuously striving to create more efficient and streamlined processes.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for, under the direction of the Area Manager, supervising, hiring, terminating and providing training for employees Coordinating workflows to ensure all orders due are completed each day in all departments. Approving samples prior to releasing entire quantity for production Troubleshooting of machines and equipment in the event of failures and errors Acting as first Point of Contact for all employees within assigned departments Approving timecards daily for all employees within assigned department including the identification of time discrepancies, missed clock ins/outs, etc Checking batches before releasing for production including performing batching procedures as needed Filling in for any position in any department as needed.
Required Skills/Abilities:
1-3 years of management experience in a production environment preferred Forklift certification preferred Available to work overtime, holidays and weekends based on company needs Strong decision-making skills and a results-driven approach Understanding of Microsoft applications, especially
Word and Excel Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required Experience in a production environment required
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of working on feet, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending or stooping Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds at a time Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect completed orders and items
