Job Description
Supervisor Facilities Management 3.2 3.2 out of 5 stars 1105 Kaliste Saloom Road, Lafayette, LA 70508 Provides satisfactory support for facility programs and the daily operations of the department. Assists director in planning the course of the department to meet the maintenance/financial/budgetary/employee evaluations and regulatory requirements. Ensures the quality of service provided is appropriate. Maintains active and satisfactory working relationship with staff, clients, and contractors, provides leadership and guidance in the overall operation of the departments. 1. Job Duties a. Consistently attentive to changing conditions of electrical and mechanical equipment and takes appropriate action. b. Operates and maintains boilers and associated auxiliary equipment. c. Performs repairs and maintenance on assigned powerhouse equipment to ensure continued operation. If beyond capability notifies the Director or seeks required assistance. d. Observes meters and gauges to determine operating conditions. Adjusts and regulates the system as necessary in accordance with need and safety requirements. e. Performs preventative maintenance, analyzes defects or malfunctions and makes corrective repairs to interior communication systems including the nurse call system, general paging system, telephones, and televisions. f. Records data required by the boiler and or equipment logs. Analyzes such readings, making necessary corrections to ensure safe and comfortable conditions. g. Performs prescribed chemical tests and analysis of boiler water, cooling tower water, condensate, chilled water, and domestic hot water. h. Performs other duties as assigned. i. Maintains records of all work and costs associated with assigned equipment and buildings. j. Attends seminars/ schools to maintain competency. k. Displays appropriate knowledge of hospital policies and procedures. l. Effectively anticipates the needs of the organization as a whole and its relationships with the facilities management department. m. Collects, evaluates, and reviews quality data, credentials and qualifications of applicants for appointment and/or reappointment to the Medical Staff or AHP Staff. 2. Hospital Wide Requirements a. Observes department/hospital policies concerning smoking, telephone use, dress code and other rules governing conduct while at work. Follows established hospital guidelines with regards to appropriate access of information. b. Meets hospital wide and department specific educational requirements. Attends all annual mandates / required in-services: (i.e. CPR, Safety, infection control), CPR current if required. Maintains a current Employee Health screening status as per hospital policy. c. Utilizes hospital/departmental manuals appropriately. Knowledgeable of location and use of emergency response equipment. Responds to Emergency Preparedness Plans according to hospital policy. d. Attends and participates in a minimum of 3/4ths of required meetings such as departmental or committee meetings. Maintains inter and intra departmental communication ex MOX. e. Employee demonstrates an understanding of and adherence to the Code of Conduct. Employee conduct reflects the company’s values and a commitment to the Code of Conduct f. Maintains a safe and orderly work area. Cleans equipment as needed. Maintains equipment in safe and proper working condition through correct use and appropriate notification of malfunction. g. When indicated, completes occurrence reports in a timely manner. h. Complies with and helps to enforce safety and health policies. Applies appropriate ergonomic principles to reduce the potential for job related injuries. i. Implements all policies and procedures to identify and reduce the risks of acquiring and transmitting infections among patients, employees, and others. j. Follows appropriate channels of communication. k. Displays effective customer relations skills. l. Identifies self-improvement/department improvement needs and seeks appropriate resources. Accepts responsibility for action and omissions. m. Willing to adjust personal schedule to meet hospital staffing needs. n. Reports to department on time and prepared to begin assigned duties. o. Experience :
background in repair and operation of mechanical and electrical systems. Minimum of 1 year experience as an operation or stationary engineer in similar or larger plants.
