20, Thibodaux, LA 70301 Job Description The Parish/Cemetery Facilities Associate is a part-time, non-exempt position that will be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the parish facilities and cemetery grounds for Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church-Chackbay. The Parish/Cemetery Facilities Associate reports to the Director of Business Operations.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities Include The Following:
Performs routine maintenance, repairs (lawn care, filters, light bulbs, cleaning drains, etc.), and basic upgrades for the parish and cemetery grounds. Collects and disposes of garbage around the parish and cemetery grounds. Inspects property, buildings, systems and equipment regularly to identify potential issues. Keeps inventory of equipment & supplies. Works with the Director of Business Operations on a master maintenance task list and helps identify when it is appropriate to involve the volunteer maintenance team. Prepares the property and buildings for severe weather. Assists with assessing the property and buildings for any damage thereto following any severe weather. Cleans the interior and exterior of the parish buildings, as needed Assists with the setup and clean up of parish events, as needed

High School Diploma or Equivalent General facilities maintenance, basic carpentry, and grounds keeping knowledge. 1

The individual must be a practicing Catholic and in full communion with the Catholic Church, willing to work according to the values of OLOPS Parish. He or she must live a lifestyle according to the Code of Professional Conduct of the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux, available at htdiocese.org/manualofpolicies. He or she must be a living witness of a missionary disciple as defined by Sacred Scripture and Sacred Tradition, interpreted by the Magisterium of the Church. Must be able to successfully complete Safe Environment training. Must have a driver’s license with a good driving record. Must be able to read, write, understand, and speakspeak English. Ability to conduct oneself with a professional attitude and manner. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive situations and documents/ records. Basic knowledge of the Catholic Church, teachings, and her values. Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions. Must be able to communicate clearly by phone, in written form including email, and verbally to staff members and parishioners. Must be able to multi-task and set priorities. Must be able to regularly walk, stand, kneel, crouch, and climb ladders, and the like for long periods of time. Ability to operate handheld tools, power tools/equipment, and measuring devices. Must be able to perform strenuous activities, including but not limited to lifting and/or moving between 75lbs-100lbs unassisted or with the use of a dolly.
