Job Description Pay Rate:

$80000 to$85000 per year.

PositionPurpose:

The Operations Supervisor supervises two or more full timeemployees in an assigned plant or department. This position plansand coordinates activities of workers to operate and maintainwater/wastewater treatment, processing, disposal and testingequipment in water/wastewater treatment facility to purify water tomeet permit and operational requirements.

PrimaryDuties/Responsibilities:

Supervise employees at the assigned plantor department. Perform job duties in a safe manner compliant withpolicies, procedures and practices. Model professional behavior;report to work as scheduled, on time and prepared to work. Workflexible schedule that may include nights, weekends and holidays.

Conduct laboratory analytical testing for product qualityassurance/ control; and routine tests Operate, maintain, installand repair (automatic and semi-automatic machines) equipmentincluding pumps, valves, gates, mixers, chemical feed, dustcollector and odor control systems Monitor control panels, adjustsvalves and gates. Monitor flow meters, gauges, flow ratios,pressures and related controls through instrument panels, computerterminals and programmable logic control units in assigned area.

Monitor and document operating conditions/observations and data inshift log daily Diagnose basic operational problems and takecorrective action per procedure. Verify and report suspectedmalfunctions and variances as directed and take corrective actions.

Ability to work independently in compliance with given instructionsand direction. Perform grab and go field tests in order to adjustchemical dosages for processes. Comply with appearance and dresspolicies to ensure a safe and professional work environment. Wearpersonal protective equipment (PPE) as defined by policy, workpractices, and customer. Maintain a safe, neat and clean workenvironment this includes: work area and equipment. Workeffectively in a team environment and provide support andassistance to others. Assist with collecting data and completingreports/ projects to support business operations Lead specialprojects to improve safety, operations, and employee developmentTrain other employees to safely and properly use equipment at site.

Take initiative to offer solutions and assist in problem solving atsite. Engage with customers within scope of responsibility toprovide work updates and notifications. Commitment to promoting andcreating a safety centric culture and positive work environment.

Perform other job duties as requested to support businessoperations.

Qualifications Education/Experience/Background:

HighSchool Diploma/GED is required. Degree in a related field (24credits in Chemistry is a plus) or equivalent experience. Five toseven years in various positions within a water / wastewatertreatment environment with knowledge of methods, principles andpractices of operating, maintaining and repairing water treatmentplant equipment, instrumentation and associated systems. Leadexperience or supervisory training required with understanding ofhuman relations, training, performance evaluation and health andsafety.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Must have an understanding ofwater /wastewater treatment process engineering, water qualityassurance, maintenance strategy and laboratory procedures. Mustdemonstrate effective skills in troubleshooting, problem solvingand team building. Ingenuity and initiative are required tocoordinate problem resolution and to execute the schedulerequirements within a team environment. Must have a generalknowledge of budget preparation and understanding of cost control.

Demonstrated excellent verbal communications and interpersonalskills in order to interface with and motivate all levels ofpersonnel. Demonstrated ability to prepare accurate, timely,effective, complete and easily understood written communicationsand reports. Proficiency in the care and use of all site specific,facility required PPE (Personal Protection Equipment). PC skillsand knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and presentationsoftware for preparing work related reports, charts, graphs anddata submittal requirements. Ability to use computer systems forpreparing work orders and purchase requisitions. Must be able torespond to emergency calls as needed and work extended hours toaccommodate site needs. Demonstrated commitment to compliance withapplicable laws and regulations, the Company’s Code of BusinessConduct and other Company policies and procedures.

RequiredCertification/Licenses/Training:

Must be able to pass a drug screenand criminal background check. Must possess a MassachusettsWastewater Operators License, Grade 5C preferred.
