Facilities Assistant – Global Headquarters | Portland, Maine Full-Time | Onsite | Be the Engine That Keeps Everything Running Are you someone who thrives on solving problems, staying hands-on, and making sure everything works just right? Our client, a leader in their industry with a vibrant global headquarters in Portland, Maine, is looking for a reliable, proactive, and mechanically inclined Facilities Assistant to join their onsite team. In this role, you won’t just maintain the building-you’ll help power the entire operation. From keeping critical systems running smoothly to setting the stage (literally) for company events, your work will make a direct impact every single day. What You’ll Do Facilities Maintenance Keep things running: Perform routine upkeep and minor repairs on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
Prioritize safety:
Inspect and maintain fire safety and building security systems.
Stay ahead:
Handle preventative maintenance to prevent issues before they start.
Tackle the unexpected:
Troubleshoot small problems quickly and effectively.
Pitch in as needed:
Assist with cleaning and janitorial tasks when required.
Be ready:
Provide on-call support 24/7 for urgent issues. Event Setup & Support Bring events to life: Assemble, set up, and tear down tables, chairs, AV, and staging equipment.
Be a backstage hero:
Ensure lighting, sound, and event logistics are flawless.
Clean transitions:
Restore spaces after events so everything’s ready for the next big thing. Team & Operations Stay organized: Manage tools and supply inventory so the team’s always ready.
Collaborate with purpose:
Work closely with event staff, vendors, and internal teams.
Put safety first:
Ensure all work is done in line with safety protocols and company standards.

What You’ll Bring A high school diploma and experience in facilities maintenance, general repairs, or similar roles Strong mechanical aptitude with a working knowledge of basic HVAC, plumbing, or electrical systems The ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly (and occasionally heavier) Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays when needed A team mindset with the independence to own your responsibilities A sharp eye for detail, and the stamina to keep moving-indoors and out Why Apply?
