Part-time Facilities Maintenance Coordinator Harrington Family Health Center – Harrington, ME Harrington Family Health Center, a federally qualified health center, is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Facilities Maintenance Coordinator to join our team! In this role, you will be the primary point of contact to ensure facilities maintenance, helping to ensure patients and employees enter a well-maintained Health Center. Role Overview As a Part-time Facilities Maintenance Coordinator, you will work to complete general maintenance and facility improvement projects independently, while also coordinating with contractors for more complex or specialized needs. This position requires a strong working knowledge of routine maintenance tasks, light construction and basic carpentry (such as framing walls, installing doors and windows, and building small decks or ramps), and basic landscaping and exterior upkeep. You will be responsible for completing both planned maintenance tasks and reactive repairs, managing inspection schedules for critical safety systems, and documenting all maintenance activities to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. This role requires strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively with both internal team members and external service providers. This position is vital in ensuring that our health center is adequately maintained and potential safety concerns are avoided, enhancing patient and employee overall experience at Harrington Family Health Center. Key Responsibilities Facilities Maintenance Conduct regular inspections of building systems and structures to proactively identify and address repair needs. Complete a range of basic carpentry and construction tasks, including: Framing and finishing non-structural interior walls Installing or replacing interior and exterior doors Installing or replacing windows Building or repairing small structures such as entry steps, porches, or wheelchair ramps Hanging drywall, applying trim, and completing finish work Complete routine facility maintenance such as addressing leaky faucets, repairing damaged flooring, patching of walls, and completing other general repairs. Complete facility updates such as taping, mudding, and painting to ensure the facility has a clean and up to date appearance. Regularly monitor maintenance tickets and complete and/or schedule required repairs in a timely manner. Grounds Maintenance & Landscaping Maintain the exterior of the building and property, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment year-round in coordination with contracted lawn & plowing service. Perform basic landscaping duties, including: Seasonal yard cleanup and debris removal Trimming shrubs and small trees Maintaining walkways, entryways, and outdoor signage areas Coordinating snow removal and lawn care services when needed Safety & Regulatory Compliance Schedule & perform inspections and testing of safety systems including: Emergency lighting and exit signs Fire extinguishers Elevator service inspections Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) Eye wash stations Professional Collaboration Collaborate with Contractors such as plumbers, electricians, carpenters, grounds keepers for lawn mowing and plowing, etc. to receive quotes and to coordinate higher level maintenance needs. Identify and collaborate with the appropriate organizations who test and inspect items such as emergency lights, elevator, fire extinguishers, etc. Maintain concise and accurate records of routine inspections to ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory requirements. Collaborate with co-workers to identify and repair issues in a timely manner to reduce safety concerns and maintain facility upkeep. Administrative Duties Perform various clerical and record-keeping tasks to ensure compliance with inspection and maintenance scheduling requirements. Maintain high confidentiality and compliance with all policies and procedures. Requirements & Qualifications Qualifications Demonstrated experience with general facility maintenance, light construction, carpentry, and basic landscaping. Ability to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis and perform physically demanding tasks including climbing ladders, kneeling, and extended periods of standing or walking. Maintain a professional and approachable demeanor when working with co-workers and contractors. Must be able to pass a background check. Education A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required. Additional training or experience in carpentry, building maintenance, or facilities management is preferred but not required.
