JOB SUMMARY
The Director of Extended Care Facility at North Mississippi Health Services is responsible for the overall management and coordination of patient care services within the facility. This includes supervising nursing staff, ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining high-quality patient care standards, managing budgets, and fostering a positive and collaborative environment. As a director, this role provides strategic leadership, goal-setting, and operational management for a department or function, contributing to the overall organizational success.
JOB FUNCTIONS
Managerial/Supervisory:
Provides nursing supervision and patient care.
Accountable for supervising and evaluating work performance in terms of patient care, unit relations, and efficiency of service in 24 hour period (round the clock accountability).
Coordinates unit activities and acuity-based staffing assignments within budgetary guidelines.
Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and disciplining staff.
Customer Service:
Provides caring, friendly, and helpful services to patients and other customers.
Maintains and facilitates communication with multidisciplinary team members.
Recordkeeping:
Prepares financial reports.
Documents patient care/services.
Financial Management:
Prepares and monitors Nursing Home budget.
Education:
Provides and participates in staff and/or patient/family education.
Acts as a resource for existing staff.
Assists with orientation of new employees to Department.
Maintains competency by staying informed of changing treads in nursing practice.
Attends management meetings as required.
Communication:
Communicates effectively with all levels of personnel.
Regulatory Compliance:
Adheres to
NMHS/NMMC
Policies/Procedures/Guidelines.
Complies with applicable Local/State/Federal policies/procedures/guideline/regulations/laws/statues.
Perform any duty needed that is within scope of practice. (ex. CNA assignment or medications cart as needed).
