Duty Locion:
FCC Yazoo City, MS Duties Serves as Facility Manager of the institution and is responsible for the planning, direction and management of all maintenance repairs, alterions and construction projects. Manages a workforce comprising civilian and inme workers. Inities proposals for improvements, major repair and replacement of institution facilities; evalues them in terms of operion costs, manpower requirements, structural changes and other engineering principles involved. Makes cost estimes and directs preparion of preliminary drawing and lists of merial needs. Makes recommendions as to feasibility of projects and ways and means of carrying them out. Along with all other correctional institution employees, incumbent is charged with responsibility for maintaining security of the institution. The staff correctional responsibilities precede all others required by this position and are performed on a regular and recurring basis. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include: Managing a maintenance program for office or apartment building complexes, hospitals, recreion facilities, military, or other special-purpose installions, including planning maintenance activities, and developing preventive maintenance programs. Conducting surveillance activities over construction and maintenance operions performed by a variety of prive contractors, including reviewing project plans and specificions for workability, informing contractors of construction and reporting requirements, and supervising operions for conformance with project plans. Performing maintenance or construction work, including estiming merial and labor costs for a variety of construction or maintenance projects (such as construction or maintenance of brick, frame, structural steel, reinforced concrete, and other type structures ranging from one
- or two-story buildings to larger structures), directing actual work operions, and maintaining approprie contacts with the organizion funding the project.

Experience:
GS-12 and GS-13: You must have least one year of specialized experience th equipped the applicant with the particular qualificions to perform successfully the duties of the position, and th is typically in or reled to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to least the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the occupion in the organizion. Some examples of this qualifying experience are: GS-12: Ability to read blueprints and make corrections and changes on records for building, grounds, and utilities. Experience analyzing construction and maintenance changes and providing on going safety program to meet the changing needs and security issues. Experience reviewing purchase requests origining in the department to determine the suitability and adaptability of completing them and the maintenance of supplies, merials, and equipment. Experience making periodic inspections and surveys on roadways, buildings and grounds, preparing complete reports as needed on hazardous conditions, utility problems, equipment maintenance and other situions which may cause serious disruption of services. GS-13: Experience determining plans, and developing the service demands for electric power, heing power and other utilities requiring considerable knowledge of the capacities and characteristics of the various power producing units and distribution systems. Experience developing and assuring the execution of a continuing program of preventive maintenance to keep the institution plant and facilities in sound condition. Experience meeting with representives or architectural/engineering firms as required in the development of plans for new construction and major renovions. Experience which demonstres the ability to supervise staff, to include planning, organizing, reviewing work, administering personnel mters, dealing with employees and union representives. The representive re for this position is $115,922 per annum ($55.54 per hour).
Special Conditions of Employment Section:
Initial appointment to a supervisory/managerial position requires a one-year probionary period. The incumbent is subject to geographic relocion to meet the needs of the agency. Appointment is subject to sisfactory completion of a urinalysis, physical, and background investigion. All applicants are subject to Nional Crime Informion Center (NCIC) and credit checks. All applicants not currently working in an institution required to complete a qualificion inquiry regarding convictions of misdemeanor crimes of domestic violence in order to be authorized to carry a firearm.
