JOB SUMMARY
Assists Facility Manager in building and property maintenance for agency locations. Trains residents in property maintenance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinate and oversee maintenance program trainees. Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on HVAC equipment. Install, replace, or repair light fixtures, switches, and electrical outlets. Replace or repair plumbing fixtures, cleaning, and unclogging drains. Perform light construction work. Oversee upkeep of appearance of the facilities. Use the agency work order system, completing work order requests in a timely manner, report problems to supervisor. Perform preventative maintenance on agency vehicles and equipment. Perform or oversee light painting, touch-up, and cleaning at facilities. Perform pest control as needed. Purchase needed supplies under supervision of Facility Manager. Pick-up donations as needed. Assist in emergency drills as needed. Communicate frequently both verbally and electronically with other staff. Attend all meetings. Maintain compliance with agency policies, procedures, and standards, upholding organizational values and regulatory requirements. Other agency duties as assigned.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
Complete all work orders assigned in the system in a timely manner and have those work orders approved by the supervisor with minimal rejections. Complete all other paperwork assigned by the supervisor. Maintain areas assigned by supervisor in an inspection ready state.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Must be at least 18 years of age and able to read, write, understand, and follow directions. High school diploma or general education degree (GED). One year’s experience in providing maintenance services to include electrical, equipment, HVAC, plumbing and construction; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to use and/or operate hand and power tools. Ability to use a smartphone and use a computer with Microsoft windows and Microsoft Office Ability to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations. Ability to respond to questions/inquiries from others using tact, courtesy, and professionalism. Ability to deal with problems involving concrete variables exercising judgment, ingenuity, and initiative. Demonstrates sensitivity with clients who are in early recovery from substance use disorder and may have experienced homelessness or other trauma. Ability to work in a diverse recovery environment with residents, with a good understanding of appropriate boundaries. No substantiated findings of abuse or neglect listed on the NC Health Care Personnel Registry. Comply with confidentiality laws to ensure client confidentiality is always maintained. Must always maintain a valid NC driver’s license and be insurable by Hope Haven. Ability to perform duties physically and mentally without harm to self or others.
