Job Description

Facilities and Fleet Manager Aspire Trade High School 7125 Hambright Road, Huntersville, NC 28078 Position Purpose Reporting to the Director of Facility Services, the Facilities and Fleet Manager helps keep our school running smoothly—both inside the building and out on the road. This role is responsible for keeping our campus clean and safe, handling minor maintenance needs, coordinating with vendors, managing transportation logistics, communicating with families, supervising bus drivers, and making sure our vehicle fleet stays in top condition. Essential Responsibilities Make sure the building stays clean and well-maintained day to day. Report minor maintenance issues and coordinate repairs when needed. Serve as the main point of contact for on-site vendors and service providers (cleaning, pest control, HVAC, etc.). Work closely with the Director of Facility Services on building upkeep and improvements. Plan and oversee school bus routes to make sure students get to and from school safely and efficiently. Communicate with parents about bus stops, schedules, and payment questions. Supervise bus drivers and help support a safe, dependable, and professional transportation team. Serve as a backup bus driver when needed. Stay on top of routine maintenance and repairs for the bus fleet—schedule service, track inspections, and handle emergencies if they come up. Keep clear and organized records related to transportation and maintenance. Respond quickly to any urgent issues involving the building or fleet (like bad weather or safety concerns). Be an active part of the school operations team—attend meetings, contribute ideas, and help keep things running smoothly. Make sure everything we do follows safety regulations and best practices. What You Bring Experience in facilities work, logistics, or transportation (2-3 years preferred). Strong organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple responsibilities. Great communication skills for working with staff, families, and vendors. A hands-on mindset—you’re not afraid to step in and solve problems. Comfortable with technology and keeping records up to date. Ability to stay calm and flexible in changing or high-pressure situations. Leadership skills and experience supervising others is a plus. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent (some college or related training preferred). Valid CDL with passenger endorsement—or willingness to get one. CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to complete training). Familiarity with safety standards for facilities and transportation is helpful.
