Essential Job Duties At University Housing, we’re dedicated to creating safe, comfortable spaces that our residents are proud to call home. Our Facilities team plays a key role in that mission-responding to work orders, managing daily operations, and partnering with others across campus to keep things running smoothly.
We’re looking for a Housing Facilities Specialist who’s ready to take the lead on coordinating small projects and improving day-to-day operations. In this role, you’ll work closely with campus partners, contractors, and our in-house team to plan and carry out a variety of facilities projects-from the first conversation to the final inspection.
You’ll be responsible for planning, communication, scheduling, oversight, and follow-through on both recurring processes and short-term projects that make a real difference in the residential experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and coordinate small-scale facilities projects with contractors and campus partners
Create and implement day-to-day operations and maintenance processes
Manage communication, scheduling, and execution of facilities work
Conduct inspections to ensure quality and completion
Oversee project closeout, documentation, and follow-up
Serve as a point of contact between residents, staff, and project stakeholders If you’re organized, collaborative, and enjoy turning plans into action, we encourage you to apply. Other Responsibilities Qualifications Minimum Experience/Education Bachelor’s degree and one year of experience related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. Other Required Qualifications Hands-on experience managing building operations, maintenance tasks, or technical facilities work
Proven ability to lead and complete projects-coordinating timelines, resources, and communication from start to finish
Familiarity with maintenance methods, materials, and best practices, including oversight of day-to-day repair or upkeep
Experience supervising or guiding a team, including assigning tasks and monitoring progress
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and with contractors
Skilled at balancing multiple projects or deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment Preferred Qualifications N/A Required License or Certification Drivers License Required Valid NC Driver’s License required Yes
